Hi Forums,

So like the title says, I'm here because of XKCD!

I downloaded the demo last wednesday and spent my whole Easter long weekend playing it. Played it so much that I had to find more. So headed to YouTube and found Wernher Von Kerman, HOCgaming, and some others and was so intrigued that I had to get the full version to see what else I can do.

I now find myself engrossed in the wiki while at work and counting the minutes until I launch the game again.

If it wasn't for the fact I've got two monitors hooked up to my iMac I would probably not be here on the forums making this post.

Anyway. Back to it.

Welcome! Since you mentioned youtubers let me recommend KurtJmac (hope I spelled that right) and of course scott manley. Both have many good KSP videos.

Btw I'm also at work right now waiting for the time to pass...

Glad I'm not the only one. I saw an XKCD comic and was intrigued-- so I found a stream on Twitch.tv of someone playing KSP and got to watch him successfully land a shuttle with almost no fuel left. It was exciting, and there were all of these rocket related words and things I didn't understand... So now I have to be a part of it!

Going to get the demo ASAP and start tinkering, but just wanted to introduce myself first. :-)

I too discovered Kerbal through XKCD. It's a great game, but as you have discovered, escape velocity is over 900,000m/s.

If you ever want to leave, I suggest the periapse kicks technique.
