Anybody waiting for Windows 8 Consumer Preview?

I\'ve seen the developer preview, and I\'m not impressed... Actually, it seems WAY worse than vista for desktop computers. Metro seems useful for tablets, but ONLY for tablets, and they are making it the main interface.

I\'ll ignore it exists until something better comes along. W7 should last a decade or so ;)

The dev preview only had like 2% of it\'s actual features.

They are making win 8 better.

Win 9 isn\'t coming out for another year or two...

Ohh no. I was so stupid to download the developer preview. I didn\'t like it. It\'s rather an os for tablets and smartphones (and that will it be, Windows Phone 8 for smartphones and Windows 8 for tablets). A hardcore gamer will definitely not like it.

You can still access the desktop even with the Metro UI in place. As far as the UI goes, its Windows 7 with a fancy start button.

Yeah, that and Metro apps don\'t have an 'Close' button... You are now supposed to trust windows to decide when to hibernate/kill the apps...

Yes, but you don\'t really have to use the Metro apps. I have it installed on another computer. It runs KSP easily. In any case, this isn\'t the full release, its just a preview. We don\'t really know what it is Microsoft will do with it between now and June/August. We have an idea, but we don\'t know the full extent.

This is going to be 99% of the features.

The other precent are probably dev programs..

Anyway I\'ll be using it.

(For school work that is...)
