The most rage-summoning crash/bug/failure you have ever had in ksp?

Roving around on kerbin and hitting ghost bumps was always a table flip moment. :)

as far as bugs though

I would say the time I was orbiting bop after rescuing jefry from LLO (LOW lethye orbit) and coasting to my intercept with my tug/CM with all my lathye science in it,

only to exit map view, do a crew report then back in to map view only to come to the dismay that my tug/CM was eaten by the kraken....:( RIP Jeb, Bill, and Bob. + all that lathye science.

Bop really is a ship eater.

The other day the bug where a Kerbal gets in ragdoll (uncontrollable) state while in a rover seat hacked me off, though that's because the mission was already becoming an infuriating series of screw-ups. This bug is only made more annoying by meeting with the invisible bumps bug Tidus mentioned.

I have had plenty of rages with RT2 or the Kraken inducing KAS stuff, but the only stock rage inducing problem I have had was when I had a kerbal EVA on minmus only to run out of jetpack fuel. I spent an entire HOUR attempting to get that guy to jump back into the command pod, but he just kept overshooting!

My issue involves long missions. If I send a ship to Jool, I like to do some shorter missions in the meantime. When I go back later to take over the Jool mission, I get a black screen with the altitude spinning out of control. The ship winds up being lost.

I guess I have to stick to one mission at a time...

Ah... I was about to post this too. For me it seems to be that Kerbin's Deserts are particularly memory intensive for some reason and I have enough mods to push me over the memory level for that area. I was able to land in map mode, but trying to drive my test rover caused it to crash too. I was pretty close to the Desert Anomaly too, but sadly it appears to be one anomaly I won't see for a long time yet.

I have some memory issues in the VAB from time to time, but no clearly identified kraken attacks during the last 5 months.

Before that time i wasnt aware of KSP and knew attacking kraken only from 1920s Horror Stories written by some H.P.L. guy and this Jules Verne dude...

The most irritating bug I ran into recently, was one particular ship returning from the Jool system... every time it crossed an SOI (leaving the moon's SOI, then leaving Jool's, then entering Kerbin's), it would end up on some crazy solar escape trajectory. I'd F9-reload, try again with a slightly different burn, and BAM. Stupidly high velocity escape from the sun.

The work-around was to let it cross the SOI boundaries while controlling SOMETHING ELSE. Then it would be OK until it got to the next SOI transition again. I have no idea what was so special about that spacecraft. None of the others have behaved this way. This was during 0.23.5.

Was it the new XL one? There are known bugs with that due to it having PhysicsSignificance = 1 set in the part.cfg, which makes it massless and dragless. Remove that line and the bugs will go away though I was warned the rockets may wobble more.

Just completed my HUGE Space station (PRSS, Particle Research Space Station) in a 320 KmX321Km orbit (based of the ISS) it has part of of 1120 (approx.) then sent one about half the size to the Mun. then sent one just smaller than the IMSS (Intergalactic Munar Space station) to Minmus (MMFCS, Minmus Mint Food Co. Station) went back to the Space Center to admire my work, then I looked and they were not there, restarted not there.

I've had quite a few...

The flying dance stage liked to freeze the game when it crashed into the ground.

The Krakenfire 22 crashed whenever the Kerbal impacted one of the engines while near top-speed.

The RCS rodeo horse crashed a LOT. Almost 50% of the time a kerbal fell off of it I would get Hell Kraken or a CTD.

Asteroids don't like it when you break the clamps off in certain ways, that causes crashes and vanishing asteroids.

Sent an entire craft equipped with a 2 man lander to have it fall down on kerbin.I was a two day rescue mission before as my ship had to use fuel ,and need fuel badly annoyed mr.However, while escaping kerbin's SOI kerbin though it was funny not to let my ship escape ,and decided to eat it.All attempts to save the ship through cheats ended in failure.

Was that crazy trajectory permanent? I routinely have weird orbits show up on SOI transitions. I just give it a couple of minutes (at 1x) and it settles back down to what I was expecting.

You know, I'm not sure now. I had it strike again last night, and I decided to let it go and see what would happen, and it corrected after a minute or two. I think it may actually be just a display bug in the last minute or two before hitting the actual SOI transition. I probably didn't give it enough time in those previous incidents.

Started a new career, was returning from Minmus with a boatload of Science. It'd been a very successful mission - I don't know exactly how much I'd gotten, but it was in the thousands at least. Anyway, I re-enter fine, all IVA (because I love KerbQuake) and when I come down through the clouds, I feel the parachutes deploy fully. Well, that's a bit odd - the ground looks very far below me.. and all my instruments are telling me I'm below 500m anyway... So I rotate the capsule to look around and see this:

gQD0FxD.png

It fell over, of course, when it hit the ground and rolled down the hill. Exploded pretty much immediately, along with all my Science. I also have permadeath on so the first kerbal I'd taken to space, the one who was famous among kerbals has now died.

Buh.

I had reported this a while back, but they know about it and it isn't a serious issue.

Crossing SOIs will give you a weird trajectory in the map view for a few seconds (and it'll show up in mods like protractor) but it doesn't affect anything. There is just a short delay between the escape point and the intercept point of the next thing.

This isn't the most rage-inducing bug if it only happens once, but it happens to me all the time: when I'm testing out a craft, I often revert back to the VAB or SPH when I discover a failure to fix, and the game freezes. It can happen as frequently as once every 4 reverts with a high part count craft. It then proceeds to make the task manager un-selectable so I can't force quit, and I have to restart my entire computer. Once or twice it also killed Jeb, Bill, and Bob, who had gotten into the pod automatically for a test run and wound up dead when I reloaded KSP after restarting.

I would have to say that my most infuriating glitch that happened was the one where I glitched through Eve when trying to deliver a fifteen-ton rover there. I was running out of time on the computer, so I time-warped to max... and the rover went cleanly through the planet.

Then I quickloaded, because I thought I had quicksaved the mission. No such luck. I was taken back to a failed Jool mission that I had ended the flight of five in-game years before. I had built a space station and a Mun base since then... and I had to start all over again.

ARGH!

I have never had an failing decoupler, and I seem to be the only one

The image below is of the station after a successful launch, however, on the first time of launching the crew/science module (that's the top three quarters of it), the launcher broke up just before I started my circularisation burn (around Kerbin, not the Mun). The module then proceeded to reenter and break up. I do 95% of my launches uncrewed, and then send kerbals up later in my ultra-reliable crew bus, so normally I wouldn't have minded about losing a module like this - there's no money yet, after all. However, this was the second time I'd launched such a module (there's an identical station in LKO), and so I'd launched it fully crewed. I must admit I reverted the flight, rather than burn eight kerbals.

Returning from a Duna/Ike double landing with thousands of science points, only to find that Kerbin's surface has disappeared and you just explode when trying to land on it. 0.23.5, no mods.

This has happened both times I've tried returning from Duna in career mode.

Game almost never crashes for me. Haven't had any memorable problems that I didn't cause myself with bad design.

Same here!

The only thing that happens semi-regularly is when I'm approaching my docking target and time-warp until I'm quite close the pro- and retrograde vectors to the target go crazy. But rebooting the game fixes that and it doesn't happen that often at all.
