More living space for Kerbals!

Recommended Posts

So I sent Jeb, Bill and Bob to the Laythe for a vacation. They live in small Hitchhiker, they like view for an ocean, long sandy beach, but they cant fully enjoy it. Normally they are best friends, but if they are living in the same room for a longer period of time, they start to yell on each other for no reason. Jebediah is eating all the snacks, Bill is farting all the time and Bob is watching his favourite soap opera. Last time Bill tried to kill Jeb by slapping him with a chocolate bar. Soooo situation is really bad as you see.... If they could just have a little bigger house with you know... a TV, a fridge with some cold beer inside, and huge cozy sofa in the middle of that. What do you think?

PS. Sorry for my bad English.

I think Laythe is suitable, maybe its a bit hard to take a breath, but mountain climbers in Himalayas can breath too... i supose...

Actually they use maks with oxygen tanks once they get above a certain atmosphere. And there is still WAY more breathable air there than there'd be on Duna

Also, climbers only have to worry about low oxygen levels. Not about toxic gasses.

Anyway you could pile a couple of hitchhikers ontop of eachother, with maybe a capula for epic views.

Give each one their own room should fix things. Just remember to bring enough antennas to make sure Jeb doesn't tank the bandwith when he's downloading stuf

I think the OP is onto something though. Larger living spaces would be more difficult to lug around to be sure, but perhaps they could provide their own tangible benefits. I'm thinking life support, crew sanity, heck... Even role playing would be more fun. It'd be fantastic if we could one day move kerbals around in IVA, even if for no reason other than to check out the view from multiple modules without having to leave the ship. Large, connectable living spaces are the way to go!

I'm really hoping that more features such as life support get into the game, and that will lead to new parts that make bases more interesting to the point of being fully functional, rather than just landing modules that don't take off again.

You don't need to lug around a massive structure, rather you could assemble it on site. I'd be interested in seeing that in the base game as it would give me a reason to keep playing career after everythings unlocked. Right now once you get to the end... turn around start over.
