0.23.5 not working with mods, need help!

Hey everyone,

So here's what happened, when 0.23.5 came out, I stuck with 0.23 and everything was working fine (with loads of mods), I recently decided to go with 0.23.5 (don't ask me why) and I got that and went and added all the mods I had in 0.23 and copied my saved sandbox and career over into 0.23.5.

Problem is, it doesn't work! Anybody got any ideas/can help me out?!

Thanks!

Logs. Give logs or no one can help.

That and did you check that each mod had been updated? There are plenty that didn't get updated, are dead, or require community patches (like B9) to get working properly.

What do you mean by logs exactly? I thought I checked the mods for updated versions, I'll go through them again cos I obviously missed something.

You do realise how vague this question is, right?

"I added mods and now nothing works. How fix?"

What mods? What versions? Installed the same way as 0.23? Got build 464, not 459? How exactly are they not working? Are the saves loading correctly? Do the mods work in a new savegame? Have you accidentally installed any older/incompatible versions of mods?

Theres a list of mods in my signature, put 2 + 2 together... 464 or 459 I am not a software engineer how am I suppose to know, I mentioned about the saves and yes they are working, the game will not load with the mods installed so how can I check if they'll work with a new save? I checked all the mods for the most version 3 times and tried to start the game before posting this thread asking for help.

I'm a mechanical engineer not a software engineer so I have no idea why it's not working, hence the ask for help, I don't do computer software... I didn't ask to be ridiculed or given out to so if you have nothing constructive to add then there's no point in saying anything.

I'm not ridiculing you, just asking for info you didn't provide originally.

The build number is displayed on the bottom right of the main menu screen (or in the buildid.txt in the main KSP folder).

I see the mods, yes, but I would like to know which versions you have in your Gamedata folder. You may have accidentally overwrote a working one with one bundled in another mod, for example.

Yes, you mentioned the saves, but what you didn't say what 'it' was - the saves, the game or the mods. I'm going to hope that with B9 and LL, you also have some kind of memory management installed to cope with them (either ATM or reduced texture packs). If the game doesn't load at all, it's possible you're running out of memory.

If you have that, then something went wrong in installing 0.23.5. If you have Steam, verify the game cache, if you bought it from the store, delete it and either unzip it again or if possible, redownload.

%KSP_Folder%KSP.log and %KSP_Folder%KSP_Data/output_log.txt .

It's really long, I dunno how to add attachments, I looked it up and it said something about a 'manage attachments' button, but I can't find it

ok, well you asked the for info in a really bad way so cos it seemed like you were just ranting and giving out not asking for additional info...

The build ID is 464

I don't think it's an issue with the saves, I deleted the mods and just left the saves and the game loaded without any problems.

Yes I had a memory management plugin installed, not sure the name of it 'BoulderCo' is the name in the gamedata folder, to be honest concerning the mods it's all a bit of a mess now because i'm going through them all to see which ones need to be updated.

Also the version of B9 I have is for 0.22 (R4 I think) there hasn't been an updated version, is there a version for 0.23.5 or what do I have to do?

Some mods don't seem to have been updated for 0.23.5, should I just forget about them or is there a way I can make them work?

There is a thread for B9 to update it to work in 23.5. Bac9 hasn't updated that mod in a good while.

http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/66020-B9-0-23-fixes

Thank you!!!

Also I'm going through the mods I have again, I'll post up a list of the ones that aren't updated to 0.23.5

So far its only Hooligan Labs Airships

Does anyone know what the story is with H.O.M.E., it says 0.23.5 in the spaceport but when you open it says it's 0.24 Beta?

HOME is abandonware. It has issues with some scattered fixes from the community. It's primarily a parts pack though so expect it to work. Anything that doesnt work is because of outdated plugins.

Ok so the game is loadig properly now and my gamesave is fine, BUT now my munbase seems to be floating in mid-air and Kerbin is is just white.

Did your quality settings change? That could affect terrain.

White Kerbin no idea..... Memory issue maybe. Real Solar System could do it. Maybe cloud & city light mod could, except its not called that anymore and you dont have either of them in your list.

I didn't change anything but I suspect the active texture management plugin did something? I'll try loading the game later on today and see if it's still messed up.
