Why is drag so high?

The opinion i write here may or maybe not be my real opinion. But if we are going to discuss matters here we need to illuminate things from all the sides. So do not take it too personally if it seems that my opinion differs from yours.

By the statement "Some people are loud with their opinions" I was referring to people in general. Including those spouting the "amateur" statement. Do not take this personally.

It seems that this community cannot wait to jump on somebody or insult them. Even in this case, you saw no other possibility other than me somehow affronting you. /sigh

The combination FAR and DRE makes an Eve return vehicle impossibru! Absolutely. I mean totally.

Well, i guess it can be done. If one manages to generate enough drag to slow the craft down before it breaks apart. I found that the large inflatable heat shield helps a lot. I saw drag forces of up to 900kN! But still some parts break off. It happens really easily even under moderate dynamic pressure. Also parts are ripped off when the parachutes deploy ...
