Extremely green

Recommended Posts

I recently imported my heat shield model into KSP and noticed it almost gets completely green and lights up like a nuclear reaction when hovering my mouse over it. The color on its sides are as bright as in the middle.

Its texture is very dark, almost black, like the Mk1-2 shield in Deadly Reentry Continued, but geta even more green when hovering the mouse over it.

In Unity I set it up with Diffuse and a simple Bump, no specular, low shininess, and a generated convex collision mesh.

I will upload a picture when I get home from work.

I can live with it, but I wonder if I did something wrong in the process.

I found what caused the problem. The normal map I used. It offset all normals on a flat surface. I am using the NVIDIA NormalMapFilter tool for PhotoShop and had used the Average RGB for Height Source. Having only a few lines in my bump map the average RGB would cause a tilted normal. I changed to Colorspace, turning my normal map much more blue, and fixing the problem in the game. :)
