I was wondering if life support is implemented if they will make radiation a factor.

Like you would have a tweakable on every cockpit that is a slider on how much radiation shielding you want to implement.So that on long trips you would put more and on short trips you would put less to maximize Dv.

And you could either put a shadow shield on a NERVA or just put some truss pieces so its farther away.

I think it is an interesting idea for a mod but I don't think I'd like it in stock game. I woudln't even like "Life Support" (which is IMO just euphemism for Slow and Painful Death[tm]) in stock game. I prefer thinking my Kerbals have solved all life support problems and are carrying a Personal Universal Nuclear-powered Standalone Life Support Unit (PUNSLSU) all the time with them in their backpack.

Interstellar mod has radiation implemented, it's not doing any harm yet but you can at least get a reading how much radiation is there.
