I got the premium beta for this on Monday and have, so far, enjoyed myself. I haven't gotten far since I was having issues getting interdicted while supercruising, since I was trying trading runs. Ended up with 2 credits and still only the starter ship. Working on pulling myself back up now. Between Kerbal, Elite Dangerous, and Star Citizen, we have a lot of good stuff to look forward to. Perhaps I'll see you in the skies somewhere.

Nice... looks good, I have to ait till the Standard Beta, till I can explorer our Galaxy in E : D

So, can you already fly to all systems ... or only between the 2 which you used to trade?

And is is also already possible, to visit the Sol-System?

Also, are there already other structures that the habitable planets (+spaceports)?

Asteroid fields (maybe even with realistic distances between the asteroids) and gas giants (+ moons and maybe rings) for example?

I know your pain. I've only dabbled in trading (not enough profit with the Sidewinder) and I got killed on the second run I made. Mostly I die at conflict zones. I've lost about 5000 credits in the form of pulse lasers to complement the one you start with. I'm just going to stick with the base ship until I can afford an Eagle MkII :P

There are currently 5 systems in the Premium Beta; Eranin, I Bootis, Dahan, Asellus Primus, and an anarchic system whose name is comprised of numbers I can't remember right now. These are situated in a 200 light year cubed sphere of space in the constellation Bootes. No Solar System yet.

The only major structures at the moment are the Coriolis Spaceports (and if you're counting ships, there are some Federation Dreadnoughts dotted around), but I believe there will be even bigger stations in Premium Beta 2. As for asteroid fields, there are only the rings of some planets, but they are fantastic:

It's proving to be fun, and it's a remarkably polished Beta. It's not right to compare Star Citizen to Elite Dangerous at the moment because ED is so much further ahead than SC, but I'm looking forward to both immensely :D

Oh, and if the guy that killed me in Azeban City (because I killed him at the Federal Distress Signal) is reading this... I hope you're happy

So, I have a whole separate channel dedicated to Kerbal Space Program stuff - that I haven't touched in months for two reasons:

1. I'm waiting for the next update to Career Mode to really kick off a new series.

2. Elite Dangerous has eaten my spare time.

Frontier Developments is literally modelling the entire Milky Way Galaxy in this game. Singe, Binary, and Trinary star systems with Planets, Moons, Asteroid belts, different kinds of space stations, some 40+ different ships to fly (as of now, there are only three - soon four). Elite Dangerous is fully+ funded at about 2-million pounds sterling, and is under full development. Yes, you can fly to and explore all of these locations up close - as you approach a planetary belt, at first you see just the haze, then you start making out individual dots - eventually it starts looking like gravel, but you are still a long way off. As you get closer you finally realize just how massive each of the asteroids really are - and there are billions of them, just around this one planet.

Here are a couple more Science! videos worth mentioning.

Here I talk about how Elite: Dangerous is going to model some 400-Billion stars:

In this one I talk about Artificial Gravity:
