[1.1.2] Kerbin-Side (v1.1.0) & Supplements

Understood politas.

I was aggravated by this:

This is due to the various shared files and a lack of clean separation. If AlphaAsh had one or two folders containing all the assets that were common to all packs, and separate asset folders for each pack's individual non-shared assets, we could make it work...

I read it as being counter to what I believe is one of CKAN's mission statements - not to expect/dictate file structure of mods to modders.

So what we have is a compromise. As long as everyone's aware that it's a compromise, we can all get along.

Agreed.

I'm very sorry that it came across that way. It was meant as an explanation for our shared userbase, not an expectation or dictation.

I've installed KS Ground Control and I cannot see any of ground stations at all. KK interface does not appear too.

KSP version is 1.1.1228, any ideas?

Which version of Kerbal Konstructs? The one bundled with Ground Control is out-of-date.

Have you double-clicked Kerbin?

Is Kerbal Konstructs enabled (did you click the KK button bottom right?)

Is the tracking station filter in the toolbar this displays on?

Is show closed bases filter in the toolbar this displays on?

I use CKAN to manage modules

Double clicking Kerbin does not give any result, clicking KK button does not display station filter as it was usually.

That's now two bug reports today from CKAN users, with similar symptoms reported.

None of which I can reproduce.

Please try deleting both the KerbinSide and KerbalKonstructs folders from GameData then re-installing manually, not with CKAN.

And a stab in the dark, do you have a folder in GameData called medsouz?

RE: Buggy Kerbal Konstructs behaviour when installing with CKAN.

I suspect that because KK is still bundled with a couple of packs that CKAN is not installing the correct version or is possibly installing more than one version.

I'll get a release of the packs with it still bundled out asap.

Meanwhile, I would recommend not relying on CKAN to install Kerbal Konstructs or Kerbin-Side.

Nope, there's no 'medsouz' folder anywhere in my GameData.

I've downloaded Ground Control from SpaceDock (it had KK bundled with it) and installed it manually, nothing changed. I've downloaded separate KK package from SpaceDock and everything remains the same.

I also noticed an interesing issue: when KK is installed, if you accept some contract in mission control, the list of available contracts remains the same(no update of the list), unless you click on active contracts and then back to available. Logically there's no connection of KK with mission control, but if I delete KK, mission control screen works fine. Really wierd issue that makes you think that contract was not accepted...

There are versions of Kerbin-Side and Kerbal Konstructs for 1.0.5 available on SpaceDock through the archive available with the Changelog.

Yaa, got it... Thanks!

Well, this is the second time I tried this plugin/mod. I have tried and (unfortunately) deleted it one before KSP 1.1.0 because of the memory restrictions. I have not seen much of it, but if 1.1.0 works in 64bit and memory is not an issue those kind of mods are really needed. Thanks for this quick update. :)

A minor sugestion: Emphasize the dependency for Kerbal Constructs on the first page a bit more. On my first try, nothing worked because I just overlooked those hints. Not a big deal, but maybe red letters?

I'll make it clearer, np.

I just wanted to have Remote Tech and thought it'd be cool to have ready to use tracking stations network on Kerbin.

However I found that Remote Tech makes vessels unrecoverable(nothing happens when I hit "Recover" button), or maybe it was not Remote Tech...

StageRecovery isn't compatible with KSP 1.1 yet and since KerbalKonstructs wraps it, it's breaking KerbalKonstructs.

The latest KSP release is 1.1.1230. Change your updates in Steam to High Priority and check under the Betas tab that you've opted out of pre-releases.

OK, I see now.

So I'll wait a little, StageRecovery works nice although it is unofficial build and playing without is a mess.

By the way I updated to 1230, I had to switch from beta back to "Latest stable version" in Steam :D

@AlphaAsh Will all the mods work in ksp v1.0.5?

The ones compatible with 1.0.5 yes. The ones compatible with 1.1, no.

If you check the Changelog archives on SpaceDock, you'll find compatible versions for KSP 1.0.5 of Kerbal Konstructs and Kerbin-Side Complete.
