Let's say your trying to get a friend into KSP. Or.. an entire community. Gaming threads about indie games that fail to include KSP. So what would you do? Are there any fantastic montages on YouTube? All the videos I find are old, fail montages.

It's a hard thing to do my friend but I personally like this video.

Nassault is amazing, yes, but when it comes to presenting a new game to unfamiliar community I think it's best to show gameplay. That "Build, dream, fly" trailer is the best choice, in my opinion.

I agree, but i think that trailer needs a remake, parts of it are starting to look a bit dated

One thing you clearly should never do is talk about the development cycle or...introduce these forums to new players. They're gonna think their opinions really mean anything around here and will end up banned.

Are you sure that a video is the best way to present KSP to people?

I've never seen a game where so much emphasis is placed on videos. In this case I think a photo-album or, you know, demonstrating it would be far more valuable.

And, no, I'm certainly not recommending a wall of text like my stuff.

ETA: To clarify - see "What did you do in KSP today" page 818 - http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/29533-What-did-you-do-in-KSP-today/page818 - I looked at all those lovely pictures. None of the videos have even a chance I'll click on them. They might be wonderful and certainly took a lot of work but I'm not interested in videos. Yes, this is a personal preference, yes video might, in this case, be perfect. No, it is neither the best nor only way to present KSP.

Hmm, like the recent landing attempt where, even though I'm a seasoned kerbalnaut by now, nonetheless started flying the screen instead of the navball while descending less than 1000m from the Mun's surface and ended up doing a loop-the-loop. I still managed to right myself and pull off a landing (waaaay off target) with much less fuel left than planned, but for several heart-stopping seconds I thought Jeb was doomed.

I think another feature KSP needs is automatic replay-recording for the last minute or so. Some of the best video moments don't get recorded simply because they are unplanned.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
