gsarducci
There's a config file in the MKS package for that, but it's still looking for "RemoteTech2." Until I can get a fix to RoverDude, edit GameData/UmbraSpaceIndustries/MKS/MKS_OKS_RT2.cfg to change all of the :HAS[RemoteTech2] clauses to :HAS[RemoteTech].Excellent all. Thank you! Lilienthal
Bug: RT causes RO/RSS to freeze when in flight or map viewWhen I warp forward, screen (map or flight mode) freezes, the music continues to play and the CPU load is still > 100%, but no input is taken, and nothing changes. Cancelling the window does not work, the process has to be killed. My setup: Linux 12.04 KSPx64, RO, RSS and a bunch of mods. This happened first, when I set up a more complex satellite network around Kerbin (about 10 Comsats by now), used antennas beyond KR-7, and KR-14 for the first time and launched my first interplanetary vessel. (To Duna.)The freezing happened on the way to Duna, when in orbit around Duna, but also when I do not focus on any vessel but watch the asteroids in the tracking stations.I then restarted about a dozen times and found out: - It does not go away when I remove kOS, Trajectories, and TransferWindow, but the problem disappears when I delete RemoteTech. (to be precise: I did not delete the parts folder, so that I can still load my save.) - Starting from the same save file, it stops at about the same time every new try. (between 18,000 and 21,000 km of altitude over Duna.) - It happens every time, I am focussing on the vessel. I can only go beyond the freeze points by letting time pass in the KSC-view.I'd appreciate any help. This is pretty gamebreaking. - Thank you!!More infos:List of ModsKSP.logsave file

Drew Kerman
Click on commit id, read the code? Cute, but even as a programmer not something I'd find really helpful without taking the time to figure out what the code is doing first. Drew Kerman
anybody got tips for orienting craft for photos using the Flight Computer? Right now I'm just using trial and error to get things lined up. Pretty crappy. I'm sure in real life they have a tool to tell them what the camera is looking at where and when, but unless Arrowstar comes through with my request for some aid in KSPTOT I can't think of any other solution... J.Random
Climberfx, well, no idea what's going on. Another thing I would try to find out: why is there two SPU modules on a single part?
Climberfx
J.Random. Thats a good question. I will make some digging on it.I'm not think this has to be with the problem, but at this point, everything can be the key.Thank you by your eye!Edit: Hey J.Random. That double pa thing was because i had a module manager config that put Mj on each core of the game, and that cfg put an APU line too.So i edit that removing the APU from that cfg (because it already exist on the RT module cfg. And now it's working.I can remote control my lander. Thank you again I need to find out what is happing to my space stations that are turning into command center's but without showing the red dot. FantasticTuesday
Hey there, I'm trying to add ground stations. I followed the advice of novafire08 in the Kerbin-Side addon thread and put this code in a cfg named RemoteTech_Settings.cfg. It appears to be consistent with the instructions given here. However, it's not working for me at all. I checked if the problem was the settings cfg not being recognised but other settings placed there work without a hitch. It would appear his code worked in 1.4 but not 1.5. Any suggestions? hka
I have a problem with space stations not acting as remote command when they are not the active vessel. When active vessel I get the red dot on them, but when flying another vessel or viewing from tacking station there is no red dot. This seems to happens for very large stations where the remote command unit is not in the same launch as the part with 6 crew but docked onto it later. With connected living spaces though it is often quite impractical to have the remote command unit in the station core because it doesn't have connected living space. I have circumvented the problem by cheating a larger single station core piece into orbit instead of doing multiple launches, but another solution would be preferred... Reddy
This is my reusable second stage rocket.http://i.imgur.com/WUcCM38.pngYou can only see the Kerbodyne S3-3600 tank and the Poodle engine - the intestines are nicely covered with some Procedural Fairings. Works pretty well with FAR, Deadly Reentry and a couple others flawlessly, but I can't get the Communotron to survive with DR + Remote Tech. As you can see in the pic, FAR tells me it's shielded (it should stay that way all the time, as I'm not jettisoning these fairings at any point). On the following screen I've clipped the camera inside the vehicle, so you could see the perpendicularly installed antenna.http://i.imgur.com/OutZsUR.pngIt may be worth noting that I can launch this vehicle with the antenna deployed (in fact, I'm not intending to toggle it at all), no problem. But reentry is, well, deadly. I remember to have survived one or two, but a couple of last times I got the "Communotron 32 was ripped by strong airflow" message, AFAIK coming from RT.Any ideas on what's the case here? Is it RT acting up, or FAR losing track of the fairings and "isShielded" status? How should I investigate this?

Reddy
You can try and edit the part cfg and take out the MAXQ = * line.Yeah, I've considered doing that for all the antennas, as the Communotron 32 is not the only one I'm experiencing issues with. But before resorting to that solution, I wanted to find out if there's anything I can be doing clearly wrong.PS: I've just flown the exact same vehicle to orbit and back (burning prograde for a maximally hot entry) and it performed well. I know that if I quicksaved during reentry and then reloaded, the antenna would always be ripped - probably because RT makes its "isShielded" check before FAR comes into play, but I'm not sure. Sure I am though that this was never the case with my previous catastrophies. I feel lost... probably gonna make them all indestructible in the cfgs :|
Somtaaw
For the ModuleManager.dll included with the zip... when I have other modulemanager.dll's from other mods, and it wants to over-write how compatible is it?Off-hand, I'm pretty sure I got other modulemanagers from FAR, RT, and I think at least one of my other mods tries to bring its own. Am I interfering by overwriting, or does it really matter which mod's MM.dll I have in my gamedata folder, as long as it's uptodate?

Somtaaw
aw, now I'm sad. Apparently RemoteTech doesn't like being built via ExtraPlanetary Launchpads. Built a nice little satellite in LKO, and even docked to the station, or to a manned tug, it doesn't want to connect to the KSC.Do I absolutely have to launch from KSC? or did I make a traditional newb mistake?Edit: Elaboration, I have zero existing comsat's in orbit and the first gen satellite I produced via EPL is refusing to connect to the KSC.Disregard, I'm an idiot, and after reading the tutorial and dropping a DP-10 equipped probe onto the launchpad, suddenly my station had a connection. My first gen comsat didn't have one of those, simply 4 Communotron 32's, and a large dish. Edited November 30, 2014 by Somtaaw
Sobanaut
So TweakScale. I am wondering if anyone has written a code to support scaling the parts. I havent found any reference to tweak-scale in this thread (I do realize I should probably post this on tweak-scale thread, but how will anyone know to which values should antennas be tweaked...) This seems to be an interesting feature to have, but I have neither skills nor time to do it at the moment. In the end, is anyone even interested in this? There are very few mods that i think it makes for a richer experience (infernal robotics springs to mind) and IMO there are plenty of time i think it detracts from a really nice design. just my 2 funds. hka
I have also noticed that all my landing probes keep crashing. The orbiter tends to just "forget" it's connection to Kerbal after a while. It doesn't go into shadow it just drops it. When switching to the orbiter craft it shows as connected again. (And this is not a misuse of Active vessel target. It is setup properly and the link goes thru the orbiter to the lander for several minutes after switching to the lander, then dissapears.) So the only way to reactivate the connection I have found is to switch from the lander to the orbiter and then back to the lander. Then it has the connection again. But quite often this happens at a critical part in the landing and it is too late to save the lander. This happens for me on all planets and thru several games with different com setups around Kerbal now...
