Know any 3D image rendering software?

Hey folks,

can you recommend a program that will allow me to create/render images from 3D models? I did a bit of that for my FRC team this past year, and used the tools that ship with CREO 2.0 (Photolux). I Here are some of the images that I created:

*The models were created by the team's Design/CAD/whatever-you-want-to-call-them team and myself, and the textures and backgrounds came with the software.

I really enjoyed working on these, and would really appreciate it if you could point me towards a program that will allow me to continue making similar images.

Thanks,

I also use Autodesk Inventors feature Inventor Studio when iam super lazy.

Solidworks and Inventor are very similar and, if you ever want to do anything that has to have any accurate dimensions, really worth the problem of learning the programs. Once I learned parametric design I could hardly understand how you could do it any other way. The built in render capabilities are so-so, but fine if you need to show something quick and cheap. I think student editions are available.

I don't know about Inventor, but I've used the Student Edition of SolidWorks, and the built-in renderer struck me as more complicated than CREO's renderer, so guess which I stuck with...
