getExternalTemperature just returns ground speed?

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to get the outside air temperature for calculating the speed of sound. For some reason:

FlightGlobals.getExternalTemperature(FlightGlobals.ship_position)

returns ground speed. Did I do something wrong or is this a bug?

Hmmm.

My first thought is what co-ordinate space is FlightGlobals.ship_position in?

.getExternaltemperature(Vector3) is expecting it in the WorldSpace.

As a check, what happens if you try the other overload of .getExternalTemperature(Altitude,Body)? Something like:

print(FlightGlobals.getExternalTemperature(FlightGlobals.ActiveVessel.altitude,FlightGlobals.ActiveVessel.mainBody);

Needs syntax check

to print the temperature to the log.

If the other method also returns your ground speed, then I would agree it is a bug. Otherwise there is something else going on.

D.
