We were doing it as a promotional thingy for our cup, then we realized that it was not allowed..., BUT!; the final version Wooks worked on will be released when the voting is done, right Wooks? :D

XD Actually, we had the thread idea but we were saving it until voting was open. m1 and wooks kept making things to stuff in here.

It's CHALLENGE RECAP TIME!

Team I Think We Broke It survived the first round! That means that you, the readers, get a little peak into how we went about our submission.

MONDAY

Our goal is announced. We got the team together in Skype and I decided to let everyone go wild with their own designs and on Tuesday-Wednesday we would pick a design to focus on.

TUESDAY

Designs were reviewed. Wooks dove into the terrible majesty of toroidal rings, finding out that they cause ridiculous amounts of lag when used as a sculpture tool. Andrew tried to make a trophy VTOL but abandoned it after a time, instead taking the lead from Wooks on the toroidal idea and running with it, making this as a concept design:

Meanwhile, m1 was deep into VAB construction of his own idea, using the mod Procedural Wings. He was going for a sculpted look with a complicated construction going from the base up.

I went a different route, seeing what I could do with stock parts and the Kerbpaint mod. After a suggestion by m1 to make the logo from the main Kerbin Cup post, I gave it a shot and came up with this.

WEDNESDAY

The group came back together and submitted our designs. M1 did some more work and submitted a new picture of his work.

We each voted for a design that wasn't our own and unanimously chose m1's cup for its striking impact.

We downloaded the mods and all started playing the the design. Changes were made and additions were suggested. I played with the mod Kerbpaint to give it a cooler color and ruby nosecones, Andrew took the nosecone idea and used it to conceal the lighting fixtures. Refinements were made until we had this.

THURSDAY

We had a design, now we needed a place to put it. Boosters, infinite fuel, and eventually hyperedit were used to fly it as far out as Laythe. Mun was eventually decided on as a good placement and shots were taken. The shot used for the contest actually came early on in the process but due to the finicky nature of m1 and Andrew's kerbals we couldn't replicate the happy smile in the first pic. A gallery was uploaded and another vote was taken. We had our picture.

FRIDAY

Nervously wondering what the other teams were cooking up.

SATURDAY-NOW

Furiously analyzing enemy pictures for weakness. Finding our competition to be quite good.

Nice write up.

That twisted one, that's impressive. They're all impressive, really.

Careful with the next one guys, your voices, and fonts and preferred music makes your videos identifiable. This may push the rules...

A video challenge! This could be your guys specialty. I think someone should start a "forum pride thread". The propaganda war is pretty entertaining though... and promotional for both...
