She takes 15 crew-members and 6 large rovers, packed with tools for building large bases and extracting ore and kethane. If you leave in this baby, well.. you don't have to come back or be re-supplied, ever. Will post mission screens soon too!

Laythe colonization thread!

Launch pad ready!

Why yes :)

Won't lie, had to increase the power of these pesky VTOL engines, but the challenge isn't engine efficiency, it's the stability and aerodynamic shape. Also musn't have too much lift rating, screws up VTOL crafts, but has just the right amount for cruise speed when you exist Kerbins atmosphere.

Rovers are suspended from the roof, attached on small docking ports, and stabilized with struts.

Wow, that is amazing! Can you still use the VTOL engines when they are rotated 90 degrees? I always found the engine wash from the front engines ended up hitting the rear engines.

I also want to see what you are going to do with those boosters.

Ask and ye shall recieve! I keep the VTOLs at 22.5 degrees on ascent, and yes the thrust gets blocked if set at 0, but 22.5 is to prefer anyway as it gives best lift & speed.

You have inspired me. Max craft weight on runway for VTOL is 330T, making max payload around 165T. It has 4 KSPI fusion reactors hidden inside the B9 precoolers attached to MSI rotating docking washers, reason being is to keep the length of the moving parts down and because the Fusion reactor does not surface attach:(, building it that way disables the precooler so I cant really fly over 1km/s without switching to internal fuel.

It flies like a brick but it has landed on Laythe and it can hover at high altitude.

I tried it with Antimatter reactors but it was way to OP and with FAR installed I tore it apart more then once with to much thrust.
