My first VTOL

Recommended Posts

Hell of a lot better than my first VTOL! I especially like the ejection pod.

Some suggestions I suppose:

1. Instead of putting control surfaces on the vertical stack, put a reaction wheel. It'll be heavier but you'll get incredible control.

2. Use atmospheric jets/turbojets rather than rockets, you'll be able to fly forever! Also then you can just put intakes right on top of that stack.

3. If you do number 2 then you'll only need one or two turbojets, so just line them up across the CoM. An easy way to do that is to put a radial attachment point on either the top or bottom of the wing, put the engines on it on the bottom through the wing, the reaction wheel above it, then the intake.

Before the placing of the vtol engine's, replace youre horizontol engine with something of the same weight.

Now when you place the vtol engine you can use the center of mass tab and center of trust tab to find the perfect center of trust for you vtol engine

You can also set the thrust limiter for that engine to zero, and the CoT will adjust accordingly. :)
