Will .24 break saves?

Sandbox saves should be fine, after all not much will change there. Career on the other hand, will get so many new features that I'd be surprised if it's compatible.

0.24 will be THE opportunity to restart career mode. At least that's why I'll do

I believe the new contract system will break old career saves. Sandbox games should be the same

The big thing I assume is old saves will be converted to sandbox saves, by giving you all the science left and closing of the science center. That way you can keep all your stuff in the save, but at the cost of your current progression.

I'm fine if it breaks my career save, I never really liked career but that might change with this update.

Hope it doesn't break my sandbox save though.

I'd prefer if it doesn't, and I don't see any features that would... (EDIT: Nvm, yes probably will break everything, unless the devs add a converter like some of the other updates)) (The the huge amount of code changes could mess something up though). It's not that hard to fix saves if the do break too (unless the change is major, such as the save ships are stored).

My current save is a bit old though, so I wouldn't care very much.

Personally I'm going to start over regardless (and probably move my current game to another folder for keepsies). There will be so many changes I want to experience them stock and from a fresh save. That and I am kind of burned out right now, I think a good fresh start from the bottom of the tech tree would be good for me. I'm at that dreaded state of "Wanna go to Mun? Nah, been there enough. Duna? Meh. Jool? Takes too long. Large scale colony at 'x'? Nah, .24 will be out soon."
