[0.14 stock] Micro-Mun

This baby gets the the Mun and back with 6.5 tanks of fuel.

There is no SAS of any kind on this rocket, so you will need to rely on your piloting skills to keep this thing pointed in the right direction.

I\'ve only flown one mission with it, and it was a success.

I love these high efficiency designs. Designs like this will be needed if we are to have any chance getting to other planets. The real question is, did you make it back and how much space junk was created?

There were two bits of space junk around the mun, but that can be easily be taken care of by adjusting periapsis below the surface (mine was at 5.5km before ejection). Yes, I did make it back, and had a little fuel to spare to ensure a soft landing if I were to have come down over land.

Also, it is currently the most fuel efficient mun rocket that I know of (for stock rockets, of course).

Just a side note, when reentry heat is added all our landers that lack a decoupler are going to fry, as it won\'t be possible to add a heat shield.

Awesome! I tried this, and got to the Mun, landed. But then didn\'t have enough fuel for the trip home, mostly because I wasted too much with poor piloting skills. I really like this highly efficient design though!
