A suggestion about docking crossfeed.

Recommended Posts

I thought I couldn't explain this suggestion, so I made this:

It's a new button as you see, equalizing fuel or oxidizer, or anything can be transfer.

Comment your thoughts please.

I hope devs will see this post and comment their thoughts too.

Really good idea, could be useful. An "AutoOut" option would be good for space stations, where you would select a tank which would automatically send fuel Out to any fuel tank (eg. on a visiting spacecraft)

I like the balance option idea but i don't think it should be automatic. if you want it auto, you should have to connect them via a "balance pipe".

any "auto functions" should have a weight and part count penalty.

I think the docking ports should have a "transfer in" "transfer out" option where it just transfers all available fuel from open tanks in to all available tanks on the side of the port.

I made a post about this yesterday:

How about requiring a "command module" on the ship in question? Seriously, this is by no means important or sophisticated enough to justify a dedicated part.

But it's a good idea nonetheless, though I don't quite understand why the OP wants to tie it to docking ports.

Regarding docking ports, I'd wish for that in addition to toggling fuel crossfeed on/off, I could also set it to let pass fuel only in one direction.
