Kerbal astroid racing league

Winner is the best time by astroid class mods allowed as long as there is not an unfair advantage (hyperdrive ,hyperedit to name a few) you will start in low kerbin orbit then go to the moon and use a free return back for one compleat lap

Step 1 get asteroid into kerbin orbit

Step 2 go to mun with asteroid

Step3 come back to kerbin with asteroid

Step 4 post what size asteroid it was and how long it took you

Screen shots for proof hope that makes it more easy to understand what I ment

Could use a lot more info and some formatting - this doesn't exactly stand out as-is!

No problem though, just hit 'edit' and 'go advanced' to adjust it - there is a thread about some general rules about somewhere, where there have been a lot of good ideas on challenge style and formatting, it certainly helps attract poeple!

Oh, and one glaring flaw - you have to put your attempt up to show it can be done... maybe lay out the scoreboards... specify which mods are and aren't allowed, as is you will get entries from people using warp drives and stuff!

This is interesting, however... (HOCgaming fans will understand) I do have some corrections that you've made on the information thing and some tips to help people understand a little better.

Corrections: Allowed and Hyperedit. Just a few.

Tips:

By figure of 8, he means (I assume) a free-return-trajectory. This is where you, in this case and typically, go from low kerbin orbit to the mun, with the muns gravity slowing your orbit down so that you come rather close and then get flung towards kerbin.

For scoring (in case you didn't understand it enough), you multiply the time it took for you to complete the mission by the size of the asteroid's class (A=1, B=2, C=3, ect). I would also add the number of asteroids into the equation:-

T*Ac*An

where T=Time, Ac= Asteroid Class and An = total number of asteroids.

The challenge should be possible - more possible than a Single-Stage-To-The-Surface-Of-The-Sun (SSTTSOTS).

I assume that the 'figure-8' is from kerbin periapsis, to the mun, back to kerbin periapsis (<200,000m).

I hope that cleared some things up for you!

I'm afraid I've just spotted another gaping flaw with this challenge; even taking into account the different classes, every asteroid is meant to be unique, with different weights within each class, so the fastest time would either be an A class (smallest, lightest) or an E class (extra wieght to get moving, but once it's moving fast will take a lot to stop it, speed should increase in the 'fall' back to kerbin...)

I'm not sure this is doable, due to the amount of constraints in getting an even playing field, as everyone's Asteroid should be different due to the way they are generated in-game...

Sorry, but thought I should warn you - and tryt hings out yourself before challenging, it helps people understand what you mean!

(Although I'm not one to talk, I haven't started my own current challenge yet as I'm still finishing off the one I've been doing for the last couple of months now! >.<)

Well the randomness is all part of it like a box of candy but you could "hunt" for the lightest of said asteroid class right? Like I said I'm new don't know all the inns and outs yet any help getting this to be something people want to do would be awesome. Also it is fastest by class so that's like 5 differant leagues
