  • Small update to the duct fan model - beware this may cause your ships to look weird as some transforms changed.

Again I love your work Roverdude :)

I did have a small issue which resulted in a base that would cause enormous (near 0 fps and lots of null refs) lag because of a packrat rover from an earlier release (prior to this pack). Issue was solved by deleting the rover. Maybe this deserve a warning on the OP and will maybe save hours of debugging to others who cannot keep up with your productivity ;)

Yay! it did take me quite a while to find out as my packrat was hiding behing my 2 construction rovers heh heh. And I also had not a clue which of the new TACLS, karbonite (and +), mks or this pack was causing it :/

On another note I am having a BLAST with these tiny parts . I LOVE IT! Rovers or vtol machines are so cute and just the right size for my space program. Anyway here is some pics of my VTOL. runs on karbonite electric generator and holds 80 karbonite. Can also mine the stuff thanks to 2 side drills. Probably overpowered for Duna but you do need 2 of those small karbonite generators for kerbin ;)

So the ducted fan engines were detached from my vessel when I loaded it in the VAB. Reattached the new micro engines and the killing machine still flies nicely :) However I am noticing they seem to be more power hungry. However my design needed no change but the engines themselves....

And a picture of the successful night landing at the nearest karbonite hotspot from the KSC. This without needing the parachute, which is almost a huge achievement for me heh heh

wow, that looks hard. i guess i don't feel too bad about the Winx64 issues, since all i have to do is right-click and drag the zip into the KSP folder, then click extract.

The electric ducted fan flames out due to no Intake air. I just downloaded it all fresh and put it in a clean install.
i have tried the electric fan motor but it says flameout, intakeAtm deprived and doesn't start at all, could someone help me?

I am also seeing this issue. My resources show no atmosphere and the motors instantly flameout on activation.

Kinda wish I knew more about CRP so I could better troubleshoot. I'm not sure where or how atmospheres are defined in its context....

FIX FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE GETTING NO INTAKEATM!

Go to the DROPBOX link in my sig..

There is a folder called 'HOTFIX STUFF'.

Inside there, you will find a file called OpenResourceSystem_1_2_0.dll.

Copy this file to GameData/UmbraSpaceIndustries

Fixed :)

Executive decision time! Man the desk!

This is the torque curve on the PackRat wheel right now. Its taken from the stock one, which is awful and broken:

This is what it should look like if its a simple electric engine with no controlling electronics:

Tesla's motors have curves like this.

The advantage (in KSP) is they're less likely to wheelie you when you're starting from a full stop, especially with a light rover like a PackRat on an incline.

The disadvantage is you have less torque at 0m/s, so you need more wheels to get a very heavy vehicle started on an incline. Starting torque is still 250 here, like the rover wheel 1, so I suggest the second, but its up to you.
