Why game not count my booster test as success despite i reached all test parameters?

Recommended Posts

The point is you need to activate it when all the parameters are met, you can't have it running already. Alternatively, some parts have a "run test" option when right clicked, but this seems to be more rare.

See the blue "Note" text just above the list of tasks? Click on that and it'll tell you what you did wrong.

It'll say one of two things:

1> You have to START the stage at that point. In other words, you need the SRB to be an upper stage, with something larger to get you to that point.

or

2> You have to right-click on the item and say "Run Test". This one's a lot less common.

That would be because all the parameters were not met at the same time. You have to do that in order for it to count. Also, you have to ACTIVATE the booster when all the parameters are met for it to work. And in case this ever comes up, like it did for me, you cannot right-click and activate the booster. it needs to be staged.

Its OK to use the right click to start the engine. As long as you stage it during the parameters you can have fired it. Or not fired it. I put test engine on the top of my capsule all the time.

Also note you can't fire anything using action groups... it doesn't count as completing the test because you are not STAGING it. I'm not going to repeat what the others said above, because it has been repeated plenty of times (Ninja'd! :P), but what they are all saying is pretty much correct.

You actually don't have to stage it to complete contracts, right-clicking and pressing run test seems to work even when the contract says you have to stage it.

As far as I can see this only applies to liquid fuel engines, including jets but for some reason not including the LV-T45. no "run test" option shows up for solid fuel boosters.
