Speed Runs! Better! Faster! Stronger! (Mostly faster, though)

I had a thought after watching some speedruns on Youtube that I haven't seen any such things in the KSP community. I'm gonna change that right now.

Your task is simple. Get a flag on another body.

-Your time is the year/day/hour that the flag is planted.

-No cheats, no debug menu.

-Non-exploit mods allowed, but in their own category.

-Two main categories, one for career mode (with funding) and one for sandbox.

To receive your time, I need a screengrab of the tracking station with the date of the flag's planting. A mission log is, of course, always encouraged. :P

is what a speed run means.

Game time is also fine, but it's a little annoying since it requires the largest rocket you can make.

I know, but in a designing game like this I don't see the point of real-world time. Especially with a timewarp mechanic.

The observatory screen won't really work for Mun/Minmus since any landing will be on day 1 (first launch for players with silly looking rockets, 2nd launch for players who want 'realistic' rockets). To be honest the game isn't hard enough to require any specific hoops to getting there, it would be all about how quickly you perform all the actions required so it's about who wants to save scumm to shave off a few minutes/seconds from their run.

Mmm, you have a point.

Other planets, then. Mun/Minmus is indeed too close.

You can see the time in the top left 29 minutes and 42 seconds. I don't know what's not clear. Please don't ask for other proof than that, since that is a slow time and I can do it much faster. I could make a video, but this challenge is mostly about the design of your rocket and of the procedure and people can just copy it if they see it in a video. If anyone beats it or people post their entries with much slower times and they insist that my time is not possible, I'll post a video (with a much better time).

The challenge is good enough, it takes knowledge to design the rocket and the procedure and skill to execute it. If you never competed in such challenges (which is obvious from the things you are saying), I don't see what is your reason to come here to say that it's too easy and anyone would get almost the same time and that kind of things.

I didn't really understood what you've meant with "save scumm", but if it was referring to quick save, I consider quick saving cheating and I doubt that someone that constantly use it can be competitive in any time challenge.

EDIT: Just to be clear, that time from the top left is very accurate for the purpose of this challenge. I'm not sure about the date on the flags, but I think it shows only the years/days. The date on the flag is exactly that time from the top left (the game time since you've created the save file), but less precise. So I suggest you to use that time instead of the date from the flags. And obviously add back Mun and Minmus.

EDIT 2: You could omit 1y1d for times that took less than 1 day. :P And anyway, it should be y1d1, you don't want people to think it took me 1 year to get to the Mun. =))
