Parts Listed as Experimental

In my new career game, I noticed every so often that one part would be highlighted blue and have "** EXPERIMENTAL **" in its properties, as such:

If I had to hazard a guess, I would say that it does this for parts you need to test for a contract, but I've only ever seen one part at a time marked as experimental, even when I have multiple parts to test for contracts. So I guess my question is: what does this mean?

Exactly what you thought it meant, except only parts you need to test that haven't been unlocked yet are experimental.

they basically allow you to use the part until you finish the contract, I got offered to test the mainsail before I even had the lvt-45
