hello guyz. This is my first thread.

Im razbitz, little ....... live in korea. I eat communist everyday. :(

last night, I wanna make some nice plane. so I played KSP.

My goal is Beautiful Air fighter F22. I used B9aero pack's MK2 cockpit & turbo jet engine with procedural wings mod.

and here

finally, I can make this plane fly. looks good uh?

but I have some important problem with it.

procedural wing's can't make valance of the center of lift.

I had to edit mass of parts, and use infinity fuel cheat.

If I make valance, I have to change wing's shape or remove vertical and horizontal stabilizer.

If I add stabilizer, center of lift has move into tail section.

I wanna make F22 without edit or cheats.

It getting harder and harder.

thanks for read.

and I must sorry for my bad english.

Hi, really cool F-22! Could you please post some pictures of your aircraft in the Spaceplane Hangar with the center of mass, center of lift, etc. showing? I would like to help you if I can. I'll try to remember to reply tomorrow since it's getting very late where I live.

Your problem might be that your replica is too good, the real F-22 is pitch unstable so a perfect replica shouldn't work in KSP. Another thing to think about is that since engines in KSP are only modeled as the engine exhaust nozzle their CoM ends up far behind where they should be.

I solved problem.

as he said, I inserted several small wings at the every cockpit section connect, center of lift moved into front. thnx megalodon 720! you genious.

now I have to looking for more gorgeous air fighters and make'em all.

thnx!

ps. btw, how can I adjust angle of the center of lift? It slightly lean to the front, then It make worse flying stability.

You can use TAC fuel balancer, no need to cheat and center of mass with fuel remains the same :)

Ok, technically it might be called cheating, but atleast no infinite fuel ;)

Plane looks great though!

To add something different, here is what I also like to do with my planes:

Downside is that movement are jerky, but when creating ssto`s it is a nice trick for stable atmospheric flights :)

Edit: abit further down the road to hide everything neatly

No problem :)

The amount of reaction wheels is a personal taste, if it just to help the craft being a little bit more controllable/stable you can use 1 or 2 and if you want it to be able to hold/force it`s angle, add more :)

This one had 5 of them as it`s an ssto for deploying tiny remotetech sat`s in early career [rocket is to easy and no fun].

Another advantage with bigger planes is that it will help with very shallow takeoffs, atleast in my expirience with losing engines :P

Also when at the acceleration altitude going for escape velocity, the reaction wheels help to keep a high pitch vs prograde.

Shallow takeoff thanks to the wheels able to lift the nose a tinybit and SAS holding it there wich would otherwise be a pain
