Looking for Decent alternative to KAS for building bases.

Basically just need the function of piping things together. Majiir has commented that he's too wrapped up in RL stuff atm to work on it, so i was wondering if there was anything that resembles the connectivity of the "pipe part" of KAS to carry us over till the update to KAS hits.

Well, KAS is the class of the field for this sort of thing. It's not like Majiir's abandoning the project, just might be a week or two until KAS is updated officially. I've never come across anything with that sort of functionality. Colony mods that have pieces meant to fit together, but nothing with a greater scope.

Majiir is not the only person working on KAS, so things may still turn out in a timely frame of span.

I'm in exactly the same situation - don't really care about all the grabbing stuff in KAS - just about the pipes.

My recommendation would be to look at the quantumstrut codebase, then look at how KAS implements the fuel pipes. I'm 99% certain that KAS pipes, struts and so on all use the same mechanic (struts), "just" with different attributes and behaviors. In the long run, probably i'm going to look into this for personal use, because i don't want to continue relying on KAS for something this basic. It's like killing a fly with an LGB.

Anyways - as i said, modifying quantumstruts might be your best bet.

You can build an arm using Infernal Robotics and stick the mini docking port on the end...as long as you never want to move that arm again after the port is docked to (bug).
