xenomorph555
CAUSE I DONT!Seriously though theres no reason why they would need to fake it, they had the technology. Please give your reasons.
Dkmdlb
Where's the option for "This is the first I've heard about a chinese space walk"?
pxi
I find it unlikely.Actually I was fairly unaware that this was even being discussed. Looking at some of the 'evidence' presented on youtube, I've yet to come across anything I'd find particularly compelling.
xenomorph555
Where's the option for "This is the first I've heard about a chinese space walk"?OH, hahaha, heres the video at least: It's shortened down, the spacewalk lasted over 10 minutes and took place in 2008 on shenzhou 8. Rus-Evo
Thanks for that, I didn't know they had done that. Why would people doubt that they spacewalked if they don't doubt they built and flew a spacecraft? I would imagine that spacewalking is the simpler of the two disciplines (relying on training and physical ability rather than technology).Who is doubting it exactly? xenomorph555
Thanks for that, I didn't know they had done that. Why would people doubt that they spacewalked if they don't doubt they built and flew a spacecraft? I would imagine that spacewalking is the simpler of the two disciplines (relying on training and physical ability rather than technology).Who is doubting it exactly?1.In my opinion people (probably mostly americans) doubt it because they see China as an inferior nation both technologically and ideologically (this would be normal in the 70's where China was poor and very backwards, as well as the whole communist fear thing). These people also (I'm sorry if I insult anyone) very dumb and have the sort of mentality that they know better then thousands of people.2.To perform a simple spacewalk in this case is relatively simple, and since China has been creating eva suits since the 1970's for their gemini based craft they should of had no trouble performing this.I should also mention that it would almost be impossible to fake this, let me explain if faked then:China spends a massive amount of money and time building a shenzhou and lm-2f rocket, remember their budget is tiny. The 3 taikonauts would be dressed up in expensive iva suits before walking to the rocket being preferred, which would also take funds and time. The taikonauts get in the shenzhou on tv and then are secretly transferred out and off the rocket without any one noticing. The rocket launchs with lets be honest, hardly anyone actually watching. The shenzhou sits in orbit doing nothing. The chinese broadcast a fake eva in a swimming pool in a procedure which would have taken months to practise and carefully not make it look fake. The shenzhou then lands and the taikonauts have to get in it without being spotted. They then get out on tv.As you can see this would not be worth the time and money of the Chinese, I don't think it's possible to fake it.As for your final question, these people are internet armchair scientists... MajorThomas
To cast doubt on a "standard" space achievement is getting close to a "conspiracy" discussion. Those are generally discouraged on this forum.Where's the option for "This is the first I've heard about a chinese space walk"?Now you know! See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shenzhou_7 Nothing groundbreaking, rather like the (45 year old) Soyuz with more modern electronics and extra solar panels. sal_vager
These threads always end in tears, or closures, today it's a closure as these are little better than conspiracy theories, which are against the rules because of the arguments they cause.Even if conspiracies were allowed they wouldn't be allowed in the Science Labs
