I'm not sure I've unintentionally gotten a Tylo encounter without aiming from Kerbin (b/c usually my course isn't close enough to Jool to do that ). But that's nice. Maybe you should try to gravity brake

Its easier to do that than i thought. Just entered the jool soi, set up an encounter with laythe. I will post my first mission to laythe in mission reports forum if somebody's interested. ^^

With Precise Node this is a good starting point for a better encounter. Seriously, install Precise Node:

I recommend Kerbal Alarm Clock as well. Just activate an automatic alarm for SOI changes that pulls you out of time warp (1 second will do). That way your maneuver nodes don't get messed up when you warp through an SOI change.

Tylo has large gravity, so you often end up with an unintentional encounter on your way into the Jool system.

It's common to set these up on your mid-course correction burn, but harder to do from Kerbin. It suggests that your inclination is good, as Tylo is on an equatorial orbit around Jool, so you're probably coming in uninclined, and you won't need to do much of a mid-course burn

Well, i have kerbal universe mod which adds two solar systems so i can see this encounter useful as if i would do it correctly, i could slingshot it to the other solar system...
