The only "error" in Godzilla 2014; My explanation

The only "error" in Godzilla 2014 that anyone seems to talk about is the fact that, considering the size of that nuclear warhead, that boat would never have gotten far enough away from the city in that span of time.

My explanation is this: The warhead had been inside the MUTO's nest, and the MUTO eggs were feeding on its radiation. Their feeding would have drained a lot of the nuclear energy from the warhead, reducing the power of the explosion by a huge margin.

Good explanation, or no?

Good enough for a Hollywood movie, yes.

If the eggs fed on the radiation of the warhead, then they fed of something the warhead would have "lost" anyway. It would take some magic voodoo physics for the eggs to force the radioactive material in the warhead to decay - which is why it is radiating - faster than it already does.

i felt sad for the MUTOs after their nest was destroyed, because, and i can't stress this enough, the GUY KILLED THEIR ENTIRE FAMILY AND ALL THEIR CHILDREN i should also mention that the MUTOs seem to be based off one of Godzilla's old enemies named Rodan

Many of the old Toho movies contained an element of sadness for the monsters who were slain. None I think were more emotional than the original Rodan. Even translated, the 'epitaph' if you can call it that was rather moving. I might've actually shed a tear for them as a kid after imagining what that twisted reality must've been like. To wake up after 650 million years in a completely alien world, find the only other survivor for a mate, and then get killed. Owch.
