It is indeed really cool. I also highly recommend taking a look at his MKS/OKS mod. With the two of them it basically becomes: Harvest Resources -> Process Resources -> Return Resources to Kerbin for $$$

It gives a nice alternative way to make money late game than contracts.

Cant praise Karbonite enough. It makes setting up self sustaining colonies a reality in a more user friendly way than Kethane!
