0.18.x Linux download

My computer is old and slow, and utterly refuses to run the latest versions of KSP. I've tried .24.x, .23.x, and .21.1. Yet it runs the demo beautifully (which IIRC is based on 18.2). Is there a place where I can (legally!) download a previous version? If it helps any, I've purchased the game. I'm not trying to steal it, just revert back to a previous version.

The wrinkle is that I need the Linux version. I've tried running the Windows version through WINE and it balked too much.

If this is a question that should never be asked, please forgive me, and if it's in the wrong place, feel free to move it.

Thanks!

Nope, you cannot get the versions after 0.13.3 legally for free unless they are available on the store.

Also, unless I'm mistaken, the first linux build was 0.19, so you won't get 0.18.x for linux as it simply does not exist.

EDIT: Yep, confirming the first Linux version was 0.19.0

Well crumbs. Thanks for the information.

I'm saving up to upgrade. Well, I'm basically getting a whole new computer, but in the same box. I love my old box. So maybe by the time that happens -- couple months, at least -- .25 will be out.

I've been getting better performance over the last few updates. They are optimizing things.

What's your current spec? If you have very little RAM, like 1 or 2 GB little, then the stock game may be needing too much, but the demo with fewer parts takes less. If that is the case, you might find a mod like Active Texture Management helps. Or just delete some stock parts, if only as a proof of concept that the problem's there and not somewhere else.

You, Mr. cantab sir, are a genius. I went in and ruthlessly removed a bunch of parts, mainly having to do with space planes. I've never managed to fly those, and I like rockets better. So I fired it up, and off we went. I have a satellite orbiting Minmus!

Thank you so much for the tip. I have no idea why I never thought of it before...

Of course, this means I can't use any mods at all. But who cares. I have rockets.
