moving designs and subassemblies from SPH to VAB & vice-versa

Recommended Posts

moving designs and sub-assemblies between the two buildings will very ease the work of launching rovers. right now, its really tiring to build a rover at the VAB with only the radial symmetry mode available.

I would rather have the two editors consolidated into a single master editor, containing everything you need to build planes and rockets. This way, you won't need to worry about transferring between the two, which is incredibly inconvenient at the moment (build rover in SPH with random extra part as first part, detach main body and put into subassemblies, attach to rocket in VAB, go back to SPH to add whatever part you forgot on the rover, etc.). For now, though, there is Editor Extensions.

As valid as this suggestion is it is hardly original. There have been dozens of suggestions along these same lines over the last years.

I am sure SQUAD is aware of this. I am also pretty sure it is low on their priority list as it is just a feature to make things only slightly easier.

It's easy to move them around with file management tools, just copy the files from the SPH folder to the VAB folder. You don't even have to quit and reload the game, it will see the moved files immediately.

If you want something more immediate and are willing to mod, Editor Extensions permits SPH style symmetry in the VAB and vice-versa, as well as choosing whether to launch from the runway or launchpad. I highly recommend it for this functionality (and all the other stuff it adds, too).

Edit: Quadruple ninja'd, that's a new record for me.
