How to complete missions after meeting missions requirements?

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to complete missions, and once flying I complete all the needed parts (for example in the solid rocket mission), but the mission is not completed, and when I go down again the parts unthik. Any idea of what I have to do in order to have those missions complete?

You have to follow what it says in the contract. If it says 'activate by staging' you have to (spacebar) to stage to the part or whatever. If it says 'run test' you have to right-click the part and click the run test button.

The "ticks" are not enough... ex. if you have to test a booster at a given speed and a given altitude over Kerbin, you get the "tick" as soon as that specific requirement is met; when all the requirements are met, the test can be run.

Some contracts require you to activate the part via staging: having the part already running when you meet the conditions doesn't count (and you can't right-click and select "Activate engine").

Other contracts require that you right click on the part and select the "run test" option; in this case, you can use that part however you like (you can also never use it at all), it can also be depleted of fuel.

When you meet the test criteria, first right-click the part if there is Run Test button. If it is, press it. If there is none, you need to stage the part.

Or you can read the contract in Mission control and remember how it requires you to perform the test.

Note that engines can be tweaked to zero thrust limit and SRBs can be tweaked to zero fuel. It does not feel right but at least it will not crash your ship.

Useful note: you can "re-stage" stuff after already using it by adding new stages on the stage list(left side while in flight), pulling the icon for a given engine/booster to that new stage and activating it with spacebar.
