Hundreds of years of careful translation have meant that the semantic accuracy of English Bibles is second-to-none; if you pick out a verse of the Hebrew Bible, I can all but guarantee that you and I will see the same basic sense of it. However, you have to lose something; according to several Hebrew-speaking friends, there is a cadence to Hebrew that makes the whole thing that much easier to memorize.

So whilst I regularly read and learn about (and preach on!) all 39 books of the Tenach (I understand the breakdown and order are different in Hebrew, but the Canon is the same), I have memorised comparitively little of it.

I have tried teaching myself Hebrew; the big problem I have had (which I\'d dearly love a Hebrew-native friend to help me with!) is that the letters found in my book appear to be completely impossible to duplicate using handwriting . . I\'m guessing there\'s a handwritten script that doesn\'t require a caligraphy pen, but I\'m yet to learn it.

Oh, and Radion: çok az Türkce konu?iyorum!

Yes, most Hebrew-speaking people do not write 'Block' form like this: (Attached, hebrewashuried)

They write with 'cursive' form: (Also attached, R828)

And advanced students like myself write with Rashi (Attached, rashimedials)

So, if the Block is what you see, try Cursive. It\'s far simpler.
