Would Firespitter's turboprops work on Eve?

I have been procastinating a mission to Eve for months and I'm finally working on it, but I was told Eve has no oxygen so... do turboprops work there?

Would they work? I have no idea. Should they work? No. Turboprop is an internal combustion engine and of course combustion needs to breathe.

Electric propellers are the best your gonna get, normal turboprops Don't work.

Real turboprops are small turbojets (which produce a tiny amount of thrust compared to the turbojets used on turbofan/turbojet aircraft engines), with a propeller geared off the main shaft providing the majority of the thrust. So, they have all the same basic properties of a turbojet, more or less. The intake must face forwards into the airflow (which must have O2 in it), they are slow to "spool up", toasty hot exhaust, high RPM compressor and exhaust turbines, primary motion is entirely rotational, etc.

I'd assume that the FS turboprop is a reasonable approximation of a real one.

Firespitter engines that use internal combustion won't work on Eve unless you bring your own intake air, and a lot of it, too. Electric propeller and helicopter rotor parts are included, however, and they can be used on Eve.

Karbonite mod offers engines that do not need breathing air - and are usually around 2-3 times more powerful than oxygen-breathing, so I think this solves your problem There are both turbojets and turbofans to be used.
