move minmus?

I don't have strong feelings on this either way, but I was thinking that since it easy to skip the mun and go to minmus it might be a good idea to reposition minmus. Thought?

That's a bad idea. Minimus is the most fun place in the entire system. It's easy to get there and it's low gravity makes it easy to do anything. It's there for new players. It's supposed to be easy.

I really wouldn't want that.

Not only Minmus is a very good place for various project but it is also a good way for new players to learn that a moon further away don't necessarily require more fuel and what happen in very low gravity.

I think the whole Kerbin SOI (including Kerbin's rotational axis) should be rotated so that Minmus orbit is in the ecliptic plane.

- Mun would stay in Kerbin's equatorial plane

- There wouldn't be solar eclipses every few days

- Minmus would serve as good navigation point for interplanetary transfers

As much as I like my regular Kerbin Eclipses (got a Mun base with a view.) This is not a bad idea.

Last I heard, no. Even RSS fakes it by twisting the whole solar system awkwardly.

Another vote for the axial tilt proposal here, BTW.

But robopilot has it right, too. Scenic, accessible and fun: these are Minmus' strengths, don't mess them up. It's a good newbie destination that looks harder than it is, and it's a useful challenge and construction venue for the experienced sorts. The ice lakebeds are particularly good for sillyness; it's KSP's equivalent of the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Tbh I would prefer a non circular orbit for Minmus ... not necessarily a highly eccentric one, but atleast with some eccentricity . Just to make it a better testing ground to tacke stuff like Eeloo
