I have a few ideas about some of the things that could be done to make wings in ksp better.

1.) Procedural / bigger (surface-area-wise) wings. lets face it, stock wings are tiny. I have trouble building anything bigger than a few parts without tricky part clipping and messing up symmetry. Procedural wings would be even better than bigger wings because it would mean that we would only need 2 wing parts per plane (minus control surfaces, canards, etc.) improving performance and ascetics.

2.) Thicker wings. I don't like having all my wings look like paper so we should have some thicker wings.

3.) Fuel. real planes have fuel in the wings (I think this is common knowledge but link just in case) this would require thicker wings (see point 2)

What do you guys think about this?

Well, it makes sense. Don't get me wrong, I understand why players would want them. However, KSP is about strapping pieces together to make a thing go. HarvesteR said he didn't plan to include any MechJeb-like features because he enjoyed the idea of trial-and-error. Having static pieces supports that pretty well. The modding community has all the procedural pieces you could need.

On this note, while it makes more sense compared to real life... The way parts are hooked together in KSP would make fuel management even more of a pain. It's probably a lot easier to deal with it in a few larger tanks than spread all over the wings.

Devs said they are never going to add procedural parts. Any. At all. No chance.

I'm not doubting this, but how can they possibly add in any sort of realistic aerodynamics and not have fairings? I suppose they could just make a series of standard sizes...

It's the same problem with fairings and wings :/ doing it procedural makes ksp even harder to learn for beginners and moves towards optimising stuff to the limit. Fun to me but it also makes me more or less dependent on knowomg a vessels stats, which won't be displayed in the final stock as far as i know.

I am still not sure if it will be possible to not have procedural parts in those 2 areas, cause lets face it those menues are crowded as they are. More wings (some are in the upcoming sp+) and in addition fairings (don't think we will see proper aerodynamics without those) will turn that issue into a problem to have a look at. So either a lot of work on the menues (don't see how those can solve it) or a limited number of procedural parts. Thoughts?

Fuel lines and struts.

Honestly, I hope they add some more. The three rung ladder part desperately need to be adjustable in length, for instance. I like procedural wings, too, though I understand those who don't. Procedural tanks and engines shouldn't be added IMO, they woud detract from the lego-set building style in KSP.

Bigger wings are missing for a long time, yepp. For a halfway decent plane of the bigger size you need at least 3-4 wings to actually make it fly - that increases part count unnecessarily and doesn't look good either.

So yes, either adjustable wings or at least bigger ones. WAY bigger ones.
