Ladders still only tweakable once

Recommended Posts

I ran into this just yesterday - as reported for previous release, it is still not possible to tweak ladders extended/retracted after reloading the ship. The menu is there but the ladder does not react and stays in the state in which it was saved.

It would be proably also nice if the ladder was "stored" in its extended form to be easier placed on the ship. The current featureless box is not very helpful for that so everybody has to tweak it twice - first extend to make sure he's placing it correctly, and then retract it if needed.

This one has been irritating me for ages. Especially with SP+ style stuff, you need to extend the ladders in order to make sure that they're angled right. And I'm routinely finding that I can't get them extended again when it comes time to take the showroom screenshots in front of the Kerbodyne banner. Right nuisance.

There is a visual cue on the ladders, but it's very subtle; there's a tiny little sticky-out bit that faces down. You have to zoom in to see it, though. And that still doesn't help with tilt on the other axis; Kerbals don't like climbing backwards-leaning ladders. Or, more accurately, they climb them just fine; what they can't do is get off at the top without falling back down.
