First off, the sheer part count alone would make this an impossibility. Not even wackjob could wrangle such a beast.

Secondly, anything inside the atmosphere that is more than 2km/2.5km away from the player is deleted....although technically the bridge would be considered "landed on Kerbin" so...not sure how the game would handle it.

Relax; no harm, no foul. Folks have been a bit snippy in general lately, and when you've been here for a while you do tend to see some things over and over again.

It is worth having a read of things before posting, though, particularly the stickied threads.

With challenges, aim for something that is:

1) Possible within the game.

2) Something that everybody can at least attempt.

3) Something that is fun to try even if you fail horribly.

(I'd add a #4, "something that produces entertainingly explosive screenshots", but that's more of a personal preference thing)

OP:

Just edit your challenge rules to measure highest bridge, perhaps with extra points for being able to drive a cart up to the top and launch a rocket. It doesn't have to break the atmosphere to help, even just at 10km it'd make a huge difference. Also you should allow all manner of mountains.

You can salvage this.

Example: max height in meters is your score--it has to be one solid piece and you have to drive a vehicle up it to prove it works. 2x score if the vehicle drops a rocket and launches it at least to upper atmosphere (as determined by science report). Score doubles again if the rocket can reach orbit.
