Ran out of EVA fuel on Minmus and the EVA fuel cheat wont work.

Recommended Posts

So i ran out of EVA fuel on minmus, and in true kerbal fashion i didnt bother with such trivial things as ladders etc. In addition, the hatch not easily accessible so my attempts at jumping up to it have not been successful.

I tried to use the EVA fuel cheat but im suspecting the fact that its on 0.00 is why it doesnt want to work regardless. I also cannot find a way to add more EVA fuel in the save files for the kerbal so im kinda stuck.

Im wondering if there is indeed an EVA fuel parameter i just havent found or if someone could help me figure out how to edit the save so bill can get his ass back into the damn lander.

Thanks in advance!

Text editing the persistent.sfs:

VESSEL
{
pid = 9843c2ca0688428aaf3b20072ce5cb1c
name = Genekin Kerman
type = EVA

...

PART
{
name = kerbalEVA

...

RESOURCE
{
name = EVA Propellant
amount = 5
maxAmount = 5

Or you can send another mission with ladder and train your pinpoint landings (Minmus is a good start).

It is also possible to transfer EVA fuel between two Kerbals in command seats.

Yeah, sounds like fodder for a rescue mission. I made a new lander, sent it to the Mun, decided to land just the other side of the terminator, in the dark, and realized late that I had forgotten to put back the spotlight I took off to move to a better spot. I said "what the heck" and landed anyway… was a little hot, not knowing where the ground was (was mountainous and the ground was at over 1000m), and blew up my engine (rest of the lander perfectly fine. Had to send a rescue mission (waited for daylight, this time).

Rescue missions caused by forgetting a ladder.

Only in kerbal space program.

In all seriousness, Kasuha is right with editing the persistent.sfs, just don't change anything else unless you know exactly what you're doing, or else bad things WILL happen.

I'd keep a backup of the save/persistent.sfs file just to be safe, either that or send a rescue mission, or download HyperEdit and just refill the kerbals EVA pack that way if you don't want to send a rescue mission.
