KSP 24.2 and MJ2 2.3.0- MJ keeps crashing my ships!

Landing is HARD. I mean, like HARD. So I figured I'd get MechJeb to do it. But it doesn't do any better than I do. Some would say worse. I can get to the Mun, but the landing autopilot simply refuses to work, only starting the engines a few seconds before touchdown- every time, no matter what.

I have reinstalled MechJeb and saw no improvement.

It worked, once. They're still plummeting into the Mun, firing their retrorockets far too late. I should mention I also have chatterer installed, but that's the only other mod.

I have many mods, including MechJeb and Chatterer. The usual cause of crashing rather than landing is due to turning on Autoland too late. Any ship coming in for a landing needs a specific amount of DeltaV to counteract the ship's speed. If you enable Autoland when you're too close to the surface and moving too fast, you will crash every time. The easiest way to land is to first get into a stable circular orbit, then in the Autoland window click the box that says something like, "Select spot to land". Pick a place on the planet's surface then engage autopilot.
