Just did my first unpowered decent and landing at KSC on RWY 27.

What a great slow building joy as it looked more and more like I might make it. I had fuel to turn my turbines, but as I waited for the moment that I needed to do it, it never came. Just right of the centerline, about 100-200 yards past the target at about 50-60 m/s - steep decent, georgous flare.

Prolly never do it again!!

You know, I never thought of this before, but aren't runways named for the heading you need to be on to land on it (or the heading you will be on after taking off from it)? Meaning that Runway 27 should really be Runway 90, since it faces due East.

I thought the KSC runway was labeled right: 09 at the launch end where you're facing east, and 27 at the threshold you use when you're going west. The last digit is dropped.78/

Good on ya! I've recent done the same thing and had to do it twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke For me, it had that same sense of tension/joy as my first Mun landing.
