Custom Mobile Crane, need help setting it up

need help setting it up, as its not stable and the winch part doesn`t seem to stay on the animated part of the boom. I got the parts added weights to them, all 5 parts weight at 240 t, trailer is at 60 t, will do a link so u can fool around with it to see tomorrow, bed time5639AC7580BB6A5B2DF521EA1759A9C08F5ECE6D

I guess counterweights will not help - I'm pretty sure KSP doesn't work that way.. - but I'm just guessing

but if you make it 1000t - it would fall over less for sure..

Additionally - have a look at the claw you get with KAS..

maybe you can add this functionality to your legs.

yes, weird that the counter weight doesn`t work, would have made it possible, so not sure I can fix my crane? I see a lot of post the same way, as for the claw, tried it , it just is to much weight to shift and the winch just stretchs out

would be the way to go to be able to claw it down to the ground and not move. tried it with lcars, but it makes it very light, must be a simple script to click and crane frame is lock to ground?

as for the animated part that have a part attach to it and doesn`t want to follow the animated part, well not sure, IR have something similar and works, but not that great with animation yet, just basic stuff, the boom, I might make just a simple 1 piece, as I don`t think u need to have it to long anyway??

I used winch with the claw on my crane-design to anchor it to the ground as counterweights dont work so good.

The way i grounded the crane, is to unfold the legs halfway, eject the winches with grabber, then lower and extend the legs and retract the cable to make them tight.

The spiderdesign could lift around 30-40t on kerbin before breaking apart.

They have some "magnetic" landing legs that will stick to anything. Perhaps could check how they do it and annd a toggle to the supportlegs.

ty for replying, prob modders gave up on cranes, hoping I don`t have to, will built a few design with weight to them to see, will check out the Hooligan-Labs to see, that seem better, but the winch with the hook didn`t want to work for me it always wanted to stetch the cable, so the crane wasn`t staying still

yay, got it working with kas claw as I just needed to eject them down, it is capable of pulling over 300 Ton, the weight of the crane is 150 ton. now if I can just fix the boom.

200 ton in the air, then this pic is 300 ton. is it a record :)
