How do I copy parts and assemblies in Linux

Recommended Posts

It use to be easy to copy an assembly of parts and duplicate it, like when I'm building boosters that have a lot of engines on them. In Linux I'd hold down the 'Shift' Key on the right had side of the keyboard. Now that doesn't work, I've gone through the settings to see what's changed but I can't find it. What's the copy shortcut in Linux?

Right-shift is normally the default modifier key on Linux. The wiki mentions the Windows key may also become set as the modifier key. And if you've copied a config file from KSP on Windows, Alt will be your modifier key, which tends to cause issues on Linux since Alt-Click usually drags the window.

I think 0.24.2 changed the default modifier key from right-shift to alt. I actually prefer it this way, and have set up WindowMaker to not intercept any key presses for KSP, but this may not be possible depending on which desktop environment you use. As my PC is a bit underpowered by today's standards I use a bare-bones WindowMaker setup when playing KSP as it has very low RAM and CPU overheads.
