Tex_NL
Have you tried starting KSP WITHOUT the launcher? If that does work, why bother?

Master Tao
I like how you followed the Support request guidelinesIn this case, I'd suggest checking the Known Issues & Self-Help thread first.Have you tried starting KSP WITHOUT the launcher? If that does work, why bother? For those of us who bought KSP from the KSP store, not having working Launcher and Patcher means we need to redownload the entire game and manually transfer saves and mods. That was extremely tedious during the KSP 0.24-0.24.2 rapid release sequence. Think trying to download ~500 MB on an unreliable internet connection while the servers are being slammed by thousands of requests for the same download. Nothing tedious about it. In fact, I don't even want an automatic update. I prefer to stay in control and update and transfer everything manually. And downloading an update through the patcher or doing it manually is just as fast (or slow). Fortunately for me I don't have a crappy connection. My ISP may have lousy customer service but they do provide a reliably fast connection. TheShadow1138
When i start the launcher nothing happens, there ist always the message "CHeking for updates", please helpAndre_sinnIf your on Mac OS X, I believe this is a known issue with the Launcher.app for 0.24.2. Double-clicking KSP.app will open and run the game just fine. Hope that helps.
Claw
Yes, the launcher seems a bit... dated? I'm not sure when it's due for sprucing up, although I think it was tweaked not that long ago. It still seems to be having problems. Launching KSP directly usually works a lot better.Personally I also like not having auto updates and such, since I like to keep the versions isolated from each other. Seems to cause less havoc when a new version comes out.Cheers,~Claw
Bilfr3d
Why are you launching it from the launcher if a new update is a fair while away? I wouldn't really bother launching from the launcher unless I knew that a new update was soon to come. If you really want the launcher to... well, launch, then we are going to need some more info. Specifically, what OS you are on. Also, if there are any logs associated with the launcher (could somebody help me out with that one?), than try to get them uploaded too. vexx32
There are logs, aye, in much the same manner as there are with KSP itself. I think they get written to the KSP_Launcher_Data (or whatever that folder is actually caused -- I haven't used the Launcher in many a year) folder.
