[WIP] Messerschmitt BF-109 G-6 Cockpit

Hello beautiful people! I decided to go ambitious mode and make my own cockpit mod for KSP, from my favorite plane of all! And many others ahah.

I will post progress as i go but expect this mod to be in your hands soon!! (when i say soon, no promises but, in a week from now or so.)

Lets get straight to the point:

I went to 20 hours of boring tutorials on Blender, Sketchup, GIMP and Unity to make my small dream come true ahah

I definetly plan to do the IVA. After im finished this one, the Mig-21 is in my sights muahahah!

very nice! You could use module jettison to add the "spine" behind the windows so it only appears when something is attached to the aft stack node, to smooth out the transition into the tail section.

Neat! Very much needed, very very much.

I would highly recommend doing it based off the Firespitter oblong fuselage shape rather than the round 1.25m shape. Last I checked, Bf 109s weren't barrel-chested...

Actually that is a very nice idea! But for now i will stick to Stock-Alike But definitely something to consider! Thanks!

Then would you consider making a radial-attach canopy, like the one in SXT?

As you can see there's no way to hide a 1.25m cylinder on a plane like this, let alone the even more streamlined Bf 109.

Dont worry, im planning on adding a part that you attach on top of fuel tanks in order to smooth out the canopy

surface attach cockpit is a great idea, perfect for airplanes... why ddint' I think of it myself!

Nevermind about modulejettison unless you have a stack node on it. the module does not like surface attach nodes one bit.

I had to redesign a bit of the front part and back of the cockpit to use less polygons, i reduced the count by alot! This makes for easier texturing and better colision mesh

My favorite plane is... Well, i don't even know if it can be classified as a plane, but its the Heinkel Lerche thing. Now, if we're talking about planes that look like planes, then the Go-229.

Since you said the BF-109 and the 21, and I have a feeling you have seen some of the DCS stuff and got inspired by it (Digital Combat Simulator for people who do not know, simulates planes).

Looks very nice btw, can't wait to use it.

@SlimeCrusher - Yes i also love both the Go and the Lerche, i'l even do a lerche body, and when my skills are good enough....maybe even an engine Google the Focke Wulf Trieblfugel, you can build one in ksp with infernal robotics!

I pulled some squad pods out with Parttools to get a sense of how the External and Internals are oriented relative to each other. may help clear up few things from TT's tutorial

Can't wait to couple this to an ICE Daimler Inline V12. It will make a very decent replica. As I said a Spit would be nice but an FW-190 one would be rather dapper as well.

Ah, yes, the old cockpit in the G-6 does look good, but I really like the Erla Haube canopy in later G models and the K models.

Yes! Nice cockpit indeed, alot more practical and the pilots see better! I chose this model to put in my mod because its more....bulky!
