I watched both Space Odyssey movies, i just wonder why Mankind are forbidden from Europa Moon?

What it's the meaning of that prohibition?

Basically because Jupiter is now a sun it begins to heat up Europa, this allows the life on Europa evolve. The warning is to prevent mankind from interfering with said life, in a basic sense.

Maybe i read all books i only watched movies, the Kubrick masterpiece and second movie, i know that both was based on books, but i never read.

I interpreted it as meaning "Leave the life the Monolith sparked here alone to develop naturally. Do your exploring elsewhere."

Yeah, except I always gathered that the life wasn't so much started by the monolith so much as it always existed there in some capacity. When Jupiter was ignited, it was going to proliferate, and didn't need dirty humans to come muck it up with all their terrestrial bacteria and ideas of conquest.

See also earlier in the same book when the Chinese ship landed there to refuel and got eaten by a light-loving monster from under the ice.

I don't read the book but form Wikipedia i know that in subsequent books, Monolith deemed that mankind deemed us to aggressive and want destroy us but in the end the We mankind finished ......., not other way around, so we are smarter ;-)

I'm not spoilering any more, makes the thread hard to read.

I didn't mean "started" by sparked, just rapidly advanced because of Monolith contact. Just as the protohumans were sparked to develop tool usage in 2001.
