screen goes black on new vessel launch

When I try to launch a vessel my screen goes black and every thing I do after that is a black screen. I try to start a new game and its the same story.

here is the last part of my log,

I've had similar problems which emerged the moment I installed interstellar. Went from zero to a very repeatable series of kraken attacks just like yours.

It seemed to happen every time I attached a 2.5m fusion reactor and generator to a b9 supercapacitor module on the launch pad. But I haven't put much effort into narrowing what EXACTLY is needed to trigger this, only saying that interstellar is very likely the culprit?
