There's a mod that does this exactly. I mean, it uses teh soccer balls as a base. And they work much better than the soccer balls. I'll provide the link in a little while.

Seriously though, if you want to play with the air bags just give them a whirl. There's no medal for not using mods.

I do that just for testing (stock install, not save, but I think that's what you meant). Great for diagnosing possible bugs and mod conflicts.
